Did u know your Analog wrist watch is a compass!!!!!!!
Here is a simple method for finding SOUTH using nothing but an analog wristwatch and the sun.
Hold a watch with 12 o'clock at left. Move your arm so the hour hand points at the sun. The spot halfway between the hour hand and the 12 is SOUTH.
Regards,
Sudesh......

ture , good one can also came in useful in cities.
also if you can see the sun moving then easy to work out east west north south, even without a watch, if you are in a forest area look for moss on the side of trees etc they are normally formed on the south side. and if you know the area you are in then stream/rivers flow direction which would also give an indication to north south etc.
and at nigth time look out for the great bear which would lead you to small bear which would lead you to the north star.
so why did i got lost?

Maybe one of the chapters here explains the bear family...
Well I got lost because of low monsoon clouds and then ran into a shepherd who lamented about a "bag" leopard that devoured his sheep. Then we ran in circles why is that in forest one always goes round n round?
A lorry or traffic noise acted as a beacon for us? This wasnt even a dense forest or hills..
Cheers

The simple reason is that a forest is full of trees!ngrewal wrote:sudesh

Let me explain- left to ones own devices, a person will most always pass a strange tree consistently on the same side. This can either be the left or right, it depends on the individual person. So in a forest you look forward and see a tree, and you'll walk to the left (or right) of it. Then you see the next tree ahead and you walk to the left of that one too. After you walk to the left of a couple thousand trees you have gone in a circular path that me be a mile or two in diameter.
How you can minimize this effect, if you have no compass or view of the sky is to look forward in the direction you wish to head, and pick out a tree. Now walk to the tree and pass it on the left. Now look forward again and choose another tree, walk to that one and pass it on the right side, then keep repeating by choosing a tree and passing them on alternating sides.

Yeah Navi, blah blah blah....
When are you going to come visit and I can teach you how to make a bow, and make fire, and if you can stay for a few days you can even forge out a knife?!?!?!?
Then when Anthony Hopkins and Alec Baldwin are running around in the woods like headless chickens you can snort and comment to the screen like I do!
