Hi everyone,
I went deer hunting Dec 2nd and 3rd and got a decent sized four point buck. The other deer in the truck belong to my friends.

Sharief,
Congratulations, my friend. Like Inder, I would also request the gun and load details.
If the liver is intact, I have a superb recipe for venison liver which you could try. Just let me know if you want it.
Congratulations again!

Re: So, I got a deer this past weekend...
Hi Guys,
Thank you for looking. Well, the details, I went hunting with my friends in Iowa, their family and friends own several farms, mostly next to each other. There must be around 1200 to 1500 acres in all. LOTS of deer, I must've seen about 80 to a 100 deer in my two days there, not lying. Most were too far for a shot or not safe to shoot at as there were standers in front. Shot at four bucks, three big ones (the ones that get away are BIG) and this one that I got. I also didn't shoot at one BIG buck because it was nearer to the guy next to me and he didn't shoot because at that time he was unfortunately fighting some brush and the buck sneaked past us.
I shot my deer while walking (driving) thru the brush. It was BAD brush, LOTs of rose bushes, Yes, they have lots wild rose bushes. Prickly thorns that cut up my jacket and cap a bit. I'm not lying, the deer dropped with just one shot, I must've been lucky. I hit it a little high, the slug hit the spine and went thru. It was about 30 yards and before I walked up to the deer it was dead. After we finished the drive, I came back and field dressed it all myself. Left all internal organs in the brush. Sorry Mehul, I don't think the critters will need a recipe for the liver. Maybe next time I can bring some back for you.
In all our group must've bagged about 12 or 15 deer in the two days I was there, very bad considering we've done that in just one day in the last few years. My friend's cousin AJ got two (buck and a doe), Matt got a doe, Doug got my buck's twin, ALL in the same drive I got mine. It was a very lucky drive, Saturday afternoon. It was COLD, about 20 to 25F maybe. It was 22F when I was driving back Sat eve.
My gun/ammo, well, I used my Benelli SBE with the cheapest Remington/Winchester rifled slugs I can get my hands on. Actually, I didn't buy any slugs this year, the ones I used were left over from last year. The county I hunt only allows shotguns.
Well, maybe a little more detail than you guys must've expected but I figured, I might as well tell a little story. I took more pictures but in my 20th century film camera. Will finish the roll and post more pictures after our Pheasant hunt on the 16th.
Thanks again for listening...
