"Green" ammo - not so green after all

Post by mundaire » Thu May 07, 2009 2:35 pm

The Norwegian press reports that Norwegian soldiers have reported ill health after conducting training with the HK 416 and Nammo "green" ammunition. Over three separate incidents starting in December 2008, nearly 40 soldiers have reported symptoms such as nausea, headache, sore throat, fever, cold sweats, sleeping problems, and pain in the chest, neck, mouth, and joints. The Army Chief of Staff Brigadier Rune Jakobsen has initiated a full investigation. The armed forces logistical organization (FLO) has asked Nammo to conduct research on the ammunition's fumes. For now, the Telemark Battalion and the OMLT Force in Afghanistan have banned the use of the ammunition.

So ammos are now not only deadly to the one getting the hit, but also the person pulling the trigger  .....looks like you get ready returns for the sins of shooting.......and they named it GREEN

Isnt this tungsten type of stuff the same stuff to be found in the Varmint Grenade type of bullets?

And everything these days is a major health risk.

We need to get back to Bow and arrow days.. They are truly green and also does not pose any health risks from metals and chemicals (other than hurting or killing person being shot at) .

Msandhu

Not true your bow and arrow approach would result in doing away whatever little forest cover is left. LOL
