kayaking

Post by Bruno22 » Wed Apr 15, 2009 9:27 am

Hello,
Was wondering if anyone is into Kayaking in and around Mumbai, Lonavala or Pune? I am quite keen on buying a kayak. There are some cool ones at SeaEagle.com and it seems they have a dealer here in Mumbai. I also have a cousin who is big time into Kayaking here and a dealer of the rigid kayaks (Sit on tops). The Sea eagle is an inflatable one. Does anyone have any experience with the inflatable type? Its much simpler to transport and you don't need a roof rack.

we do some whitewater rafting in the monsoon season near karjat(kondana village, on the river ulhas) ....u can vist outboundadventure.com for more details....
we have our own gear, rafts, kayaks, life jackets etc. All the rafts and canoes are inflatables. I think the rafting season should start around the 3rd week of june.

there is another group that i know of who rafts on the kundalika river...cant recollect their name.

No the canoes we use are manufactured by sevylors....the rafts are different....we just got a new set of rafts made by an indian guy...located in bombay ..... they seem to be at par with the imported onces that we have used in the past....

Bruno, the seaeagle is good. I used it for sometime and was very happy with it. I had the SE 330 kayak. It can be carried in the boot of your car and does not take long to inflate and deflate. It will not be as easy to paddle as the sit on top rigid kayaks so if you are looking for speed then the SE 330 is a bad idea.

Cheers
