Night vision is a sales term. These binoculars have a red tint on the front lenses, so the term "Night Vision".

The reticle is on only one eyepiece(seems like metal plating/etching on glass). Try using the whole eyepiece in your scope project.

Jay.

Thanks for the suggestion Jay :)
I will surely try to get one of these binoculars. By the way, Night Vision at 160! .. Man... must be something. DO they have a photo of the night sky stuck up the lens or what :D

As far as I know, an U.S.P.T.O patent application will cost about $24000 and may take upto 3 years to get. The local patent, valid only for India can be applied at Chennai or Hyderabad, and, as you rightly said, will cost about INR 20000. The deal is that an Indian patent is applicable for royalty claims in India only.
Anyways... I have not given it any more thought for a long time now, and am getting busy with another more feasible project ;)
It still needs a lot of refinement, and I should probably sit on it sometime. I have not tried the scope on a moving target. Never got a volunteer !

I did not know that the ones issued in Chennai are "locals" . Any way that's a new information for me. This scope has my mind stuck on it from the moment i saw it. Since my pockets have always been empty(read jobless!!!), i don't have the caliber to buy an air rifle, let alone a scope. This one(although not a true optical scope), does have potential. I hope i can contribute in improving it. It is sad to know that it was never combat proven...

Cant wait to see what your next "feasible project" is...

Regards :D  :D
