Post by sagar » Wed Apr 22, 2009 10:57 pm

Hello,
I would appreciate your Expertise on a small Problem with my National N-25 Air rifle.
The end part of the Piston which locks on the trigger, has developed play, Due to this there are problems while loading, as the piston does not lock on trigger.
Kindly inform me How to go about this problem.
Thanks.

Is the shaft attached to the piston via that pin? If so, it would seem that the only course of action available would be to take it to a good machinist, have him remove the pin (& consequently the shaft) and then reattach it by fitting in a slightly oversized pin. He may also (possibly) have to add some 'material' to that end of the shaft which fits into the piston. Just speculating here, maybe others who have more experience working on airguns can pipe in with their thoughts...

Cheers!

Buy a new piston and trigger. No shortcut solution solution available if shear really wear out. By the way, did you change the mainspring and after that this started happening ?

Sagar after measuring ID of the piston and OD of the piston shaft...machine a tight fitting centering washer and hammer fit into sleeve...this can serve as a top hat too if spring ID is also taken into account..if not as Thirtha suggested...simply buy a new trigger and piston set....I dont take chances with trigger sear wear...I simply buy new ones.....

Hello mundaire,
The pin is not throughout the piston, because there is a 5mm screw in the centre which holds the washer.
Any idea, regarding the cost of piston and its availability :?:
Thank-you pkjeetesh.
Thanks.
