Abhi, logic does dictate that both the .22 and .32 I have already purchased should count together. But Tahir Arms is insisting that my quota starts afresh if I change my gun (to a new caliber). Best thing would be to ask the Arms dept. at the Comm of Police's office.

AMK
Yupp.the best way to sort this out is to as the Arms Dept.

AMK,

If you going to make the trip, you might as well take along an application for increase in ammo quota... ask them for something like 500/1000 or 1000/2000 or even more if you know someone in the dept., and don't forget to attach photocopies of your Mahrashtra state association membership card and participation certificates of any competitions you may have competed in. You'll find that when shooting .22 LR you will end up consuming a lot more ammo than you may have initially expected... ;)

Cheers!

AMK,
If you have officially surrendered the remaining .32 Ammo either to the buyer or to the dealer, then after getting the new handgun endorsed, your ammo quota starts all over again. BUT It is mandatory to record the transfer of this 32 ammo on your Arms License as proof. Or else you could get in trouble and be charged for keeping ammo for a handgun you do not possess. Avoid making any sorts of application for ammo quota and the stuff till these elections business gets over.

I shot all the .32 ammo so had none left. I guess there's nothing to endorse then? So one more in the "quota starts all over again" camp

I'm not applying for quota extension right away, as you said, will wiat until after the results are declared.
