Import of Pistol Magazine

Post by cooljerry » Fri Mar 20, 2009 4:37 pm

Hi,
I have a llama .380 and i have been seeing various parts in the US. I would like to know if i can get a friend to carry a 7 round magazine, firing pin, safety lock back for me from the USA in his baggage. If not then will i need a license to import the above as the price difference is massive.
Thanks
Jerry

cj

Not worth the risk and hassle of getting rule book thrown at the airport for few thousand rupees. Play it safe unless advised otherwise by others.

Best

The small parts should not be a problem, however as others have mentioned the magazine is a bit of a hit and miss affair... really depends on the person on duty at the airport and his interpretation/ discretion. As an alternative you can consider asking your friend to get you just the spring and followers for the magazines, as these are usually messed up by the chaps who fabricate them locally.

Cheers!
