Wow, then that's a really good deal. Sad to hear about the hospitalisation though.

I get the feeling prices in Mumbai don't reflect the reality in prevailing in rest of the country.

Well, for now ask him to 'Vattene via'! (Get lost in Italian). I suggest you wait for a colt us property to come into the market. Also, no point buying it from the dealers as they would obviously try to rip you off.So try to spread a word around with your friends. I am sure something or the other might pop up.

I know whom are you talking about now. You see V-C , all dealers give "great" offers to fleece the common man. The breed is the same everywhere . I will keep in mind about your requirement though , do you want only a Colt .32? If not, what is your budget and which caliber/make would you prefer ?

best,

RP.

Hi Ashar,

Do you know of any dealers in Bangalore selling New (100% condition) Colt 1903 hammerless pistols.
Would like to buy one urgently.

Also, you mentioned that you own a Colt 38 Super. Is this a permitted bore in India and if not then how did you manage to get it?

Thanks,

Brendon

Hi Brendon, the .38 S&W aka .38-200 (rimmed revolver) and the 9x19mm aka 9mm parabellum (rimless auto pistol) are the only two Prohibited Bore .38 cal cartridges... others like the .38 Super and for that matter .38 ACP, from which it is derived, .38 Special, .357 Magnum, .380 ACP (aka 9mm short different from .38 ACP) etc. are all Non-Prohibited Bores...

Cheers!

Quite an ugly gun I must say Asking price of these in Mumbai is between 6 and 7 lacs these days.
Well, I think 1903's can be really elegant handguns.
Not mine, just a really well done example.

in addition to the excellent article reprinted above, the model 1903 colt pistols with u.s. property marking were issued to generals and to o.s.s. officers engaged in covert ops. most combat generals preffered the standard issue m1911a1 .45. the mlitary model 1903 is something of a collector's item these days here in the u.s.
