What to do with empty cartridges of 9mm

Post by madhy » Tue Mar 03, 2009 9:22 am

Hi People,

Since I use my 9mm too much I often am left with empty cartridges of the 9mm largo rounds & I dont know how to refill them so can anyone tell me or help me as to what should I do with them as I know these do have a resell value so I dont want to simply dispose them off.

Also I need help in getting new 9mm largo rounds as I am out of rounds these days & need them badly. I need to know the price of the same in delhi or aurangabad & also the location from where I can get them.

Waiting for experts to reply on this

You can put up a "for sale" ad on IFG for the empties, they are just brass scrap so should not be any legal issues involved... alternatively you can explore possibility of reloading them yourself. I'm afraid I know very little on the subject of reloading, but maybe others here can help you out.

Cheers!

If anyone has not yet done so, all members are strongly advised to read the IFG rules and expected code of conduct:

Hi,
If the cases are boxer primed, they could be reloaded. The arms law is clear on reloading for personal use, it is LEGAL, provided you do not have ammunition in excess of that allowed on your license. You could import a reloading kit and include a bullet mould for the 9mm Largo. Now comes the question of components. Components are illegal to import (or so i've heard). Which brings us to the next point.

I have heard of a dealer in Mumbai (don't know the name) who has a license(I think) to reload ammo and also sell it, but the costs are almost on par with loaded new ammo.

My advise is to save the empty cases and keep them till you know they are infact usesless.
Anand

hi madhy,
disposal of empties is impossible with 9mm users in india with imported
ammo.armed forces users can exchange them with loaded ammo but that also
only with IOF ammo.the only way is to hammer the empties out of shape and
sell the brass as scrap.by the way what gun are you using ?

Hi,

Another thing I wanted to ask is that most of my bullets have a dent marked at the center... Is that normal or is my dealer cheating on me.....

Suggestions please....................
