 does one need a PB license for a .22 semi-auto? I've been told by several dealers that semi-auto in .22 is NPB. In fact in the North there are .22 semi-autos for sale too.

Don't believe everything a dealer tells you... see Schedule I point 1(b) and Schedule II item No. 3...

P.S. - Going OT but if you read Schedule II carefully you will notice that theoretically a DM has the authority to license the use of silencers/ suppressors which are listed under item I(d) in Schedule I (area of validity limited to the district/ state) ;) ....though I never have seen anyone with such a permit.

Ok it clearly states that semi auto rifles can be licensed only by the MHA, Central Govt. How are they selling and endorsing them then? In the north too.

How did you get your .45 endorsed on a license issued by the DCP?

Why? Is it supposed to happen only in the South?

Sorry, but your shock and horror at the blatant breach of provisions of the Arms Act and Rules in the sale and endorsement of .22 semi-automatic rifles on a NP license was too good an opportunity to not to pull your leg

I have sold my 1911 and will never ever purchase anything other than a .32 or .22. Now this should put the matter at rest.
