Barrels do blow up for a variety of reasons. The most common being too hot a load for too short or too long a COAL.Condom wont help...

the cause may ,as pointed out earlier be hot load.and the tape trick should work without a hitch. read some where they used condoms during desert storm/ shield. used to place a piece of flanel behind my wpns flash hider to avoid mucking the barrel . did not have any probs th rd goes clean through.

I'm planning to bring back some camo tape and put it on the barrel of an IHP-25 I own. It would look pretty good wrapped around the muzzle and 1/4ths of the barrel as well...
