Siddu,
You should consider a BAM B26, a Chinese clone of the famous Beeman R9. Its a great rifle in terms of price and quality, there is nothing Chinese about it! Get it from Mike Melick at flying dragon airrifles. I got one and assure, you wont be disappointed.

Re: Airgun import experiences - via post/ courier route
A friend of mine was going overseas for a few months and he wanted to bring back a .22 air rifle. asked me for advice gave the normal advice ie customs at Delhi. pay duty, join club etc.
he just came back and asked him how it went. this is what he told me.
he had the air rifle in two parts in suitcase, upon arriving in Delhi airport he was asked to go to xray which he did, he was asked what this was on the screen he said air gun. he was sent to the customs office across the hall. they were very polite and nice, asked him what cal it was? .22, if he was a renowned shooter he said no. asked him if member of club, said yes, asked him how much it cost, he told them, they took his club card. and went to the office, after about 10 minutes told him he can go. so he packed is case and left, saying thank you. all this took 20 minutes and he said he had the bill in his pocket. he remained polite and calm during those 20 minutes. the customs man were happy that it was not a firearm, and let him go.
so what can we say how things may turn up? as each experience seems to be somewhat different.

AIR GUN IMPORT.
Hi,
I still do not have the KSRA membership and would not be getting it any time soon as they have stopped people from getting membership till the renovation work is completed.
Now my parents are settled down in U.K and they would be coming down to India by April. Can they carry an Air Rifle (.177) in their personal baggage from UK to india even when I do not have the club membership card.
Thanks
Christopher

Re: AIR GUN IMPORT.
It would require a club membership in the name of one of the people carrying it in their baggage. You can read more in the appropriate thread called "Airgun import experience through personal baggage route", in the Airguns section.

Can i bring an air pistol from the UK?
hey guys, am new to the forum. A quick question, can i bring an air pistol back to india as a part of my baggage from the UK? Is this allowed? If not, what would the hurdles be? I'll be leaving UK in 5 days, which leaves me a small time window to go gun shopping!
P.S.: sorry, if the topic already existed. Please help me out on this. Thanks.

A good reading should clear up a few things for you.All the best with your effort.Later, when you got time, do post an introduction of self and start participating. It can be addictive, though.

Re: Airgun import experiences - via personal baggage route
Hello all,
An oft repeated question and this time, its my turn to ask -
I want to import a Diana Panther airgun from USA via the baggage route.
One of my friend (a USA passport holder of indian origin, who does not have any gun club membership )
is coming to India for a short visit.
My questions are -
1. Can he get the airgun alongwith him without much customs problems (by only paying the 35% duty) ?
2. what happens if the airgun is XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX
Thanks in advance.
Jay.
Edited: Seen a similar query at http://indiansforguns.com/viewtopic.php ... &start=285
has anyone tried out this channel ?

Hi Jay,
Your second question is unethical and borders on willfully breaking the law.
Safest bet is let the guy declare it at customs, pay duty (if there is any) and get going. It
isn't a no no and doesn't look like an evil machine gun, so it shouldn't be a problem.
