Posts that don't fit into any other category. If it's anything to do with guns, it probably doesn't belong here!

Buying from ebay can be both a good or bad experience. I usually buy from some reputed dealers on ebay and try to avoid private sellers especially who do not have much +ve feedback.

I have bought parts and other non-gun related items through ebay. Like any transaction, it depends on the seller and there is a certain amount of risk involved. The only international dealings I've had were with the UK.

One gun part problem I had was with an old guy (well, older than me) in Oklahoma. He wouldn't accept Paypal and I sent him a money order. After I got the part, he claimed I didn't pay him for what he sent, even though I had sent the check before he shipped the part.

I couldn't find the money order stub! But I quoted to him his words from his letter that was with the parts. Evidently this jogged a bell in his mind, because he soon removed the negative he gave me and said he had my money order. Of course, after it was all over with, I found the money order stub. He was not dishonest, just befuddled.

Anyone you deal with on eBay, you are accepting to trust. You can judge by their rating, but you can never be sure until you have the item in your hand. I have never bought from companies on eBay, only individuals. I guess you just have to follow your instincts. My brother-in-law bought an electronic game for his son and was ripped off for over $100. Turns out the seller was some 13 year old who was doing this repeatedly. My brother-in-law was out the money and there was nothing he could do.

I have bought a few items from the Indian Ebay.. no problems at all if you use paypal.

However, the issue here is not ebay, its the postal customs and how they will react to an item declared as "Pistol Grip" and import duties is not what I am worried about.
