New stock for Air Rifle

Post by yash3_great » Tue Jan 13, 2009 8:25 am

A friends's HW80 has developed a crack in the stock around the pistol grip. He would like to get it repaired or else, get a new stock made. Anywhere in or around NCR, where it can be made?

Normally this happens if barrel slips while cocking. Curious to know how it happened?

Yes that is what happened, however, the barrel survived getting bent upward.

Dear Yash3_Great,
The stock can be repaired with simple metal pin insert. Post some photographs so that I can suggest you the proper method.

You are right airdevil. Any competent gunsmith etc. who can do with job neatly? Don't want the metal pin to look an eyesore.

Metal pin will not visible from outside & even a hole made to insert a pin & actual crack on foregrip can be blended with original finish if job done carefully & with proper method.

If you search the forum, you will find one topic discussion of an IFG member who has repaired his stock, which had a similar crack... :)

yash3_great,

Why don't you try using adhesives to fix the stock?. But you will have to repaint the stock after the process....
