my .22 licence has an ammo limit:maximum in one year=25
maximum to be possesed at any time =10
it can be increased by ADM or collector by giving an application with a valid reason.
licence issued for sports has a high ammo limit as compared to self-defence licence.

Run and get your quota increased to atleast 250/500. Which means 250 at a time and not more than five hundred in a year. Which is reasonably decent and then if you become a sports shooter you can have it increased to much more.raj";p="62696 wrote:hi,rao";p="62682 wrote: hi there,

Re: ammo limit
there are two ways to do that.andy_65_in";p="62749 wrote: What reasons could possibly be given for such an increase.obviously everyone has applied for a licence for self defence( i mean you cant quote hunting as in the OLDEN GOLDEN days).anyone who could suggest some workable reasons other than being renowed shooter which i am not.
1.get a temporary increase in your yearly quota by stating that you have consumed your 25 carts in testing and checking your weapon and you need more for your protection----this excuse have worked for many people.
2.get a permanent increase ---i have seen this thing happen to only sports shooters.
Disclaimer:none of the reasons stated above should be used as a legal advice.applicant would be fully responsible for consequences and not me!!!

If one is serious about using a firearm for self defence, then it is the responsibility of the licence holder to practice as much as any target shooter, if not more. A life is far more important than a medal, regardless of how prestigious that may be.
This is a valid and common sense reason for having an adequate ammo quota.
