Dhorpatan national park has been ope for hunting for many years.

There are many interational outfitters that orgaise hunting in Nepal. Mostly geared towards americans.
Many nepalese travel agents have hunting listed on theirwebsites but since the text is identical, i presume its more of a copy-paste job than actual hunting.

I have read accounts of recent hunters in Nepal but the common concensus is the trophy numbers and qquality is o the decline due to massive poaching.

I havent been able to locate a single nepal based website dedicated to hunting. (though there is one hunting agenc, they dont have a website).
If anybody hav friends/family in Nepal, I would really appreciate more input re: this.

i do know that it costs around 10k usd for the hunting permit, i think that involves the donkey and the tents. but all you will get are billy goats after lots hilly walk.

tahr and blue sheep are remarkable trophies. The reason i was enquiring was that i was hoping that like everything else, a local outfitter might be cheaper than a foreign one in general plus reduce as many middle men as possible.

no idea, but i think its a frangi cash earner government game. but then again most things in Nepal are relaxed. are you thinking of shooting a billy goat then?

Depends on the cost and taxidermy services available.

Naga the "billy goats" in the subcontinent include the Markhor, Ibex, Himalayan Thar, Nilgiri Thar, Goral ,Serow and Takin. If you manage to cross the border to the Tibetan side you have the Chiru (Tibetan Antelope),the animal from which the King of wools the "SHAH-TOOSH" is made.

Shooters . If you are planning a hunt in Nepal , be ready to walk , walk and walk in the most inhospitable terrain. For a person from the deserts (Thar). It's not going to be easy.

Interestingly, both Nepal and Pakistan offer legal hunting. But getting a Pakistani visa for an average Indian is like asking for the Moon.
