Help shotgun barrel wont open?

Post by R-Dhillon » Wed Dec 17, 2008 11:38 pm

Hey evuryone,
Recently me n my friend were fooling around with his dad's Fuji O/U shotgun. I suggested to him to use G.Smith conventors which I was already using with my dad's O/U. He put the conventor in the lower chamber, disengaged the safety and squeezed on the trigger, every thing was normal but the blasted thing did not open, the barrel wont break from the reciever. Used a lot of power n brute force. What would have gone wrong? I'm feelin stupid for suggesting him to use desi conventors. Please help someone.
Regards,
R.Dhillon.

Hi RD:
I'm assuming that the top lever is pulling the locking pins far back enough and the gun is still refusing to open ??
If so, it might be that the firing pin in the bottom barrel has pierced the spring loaded primer-look-alike- thingy giving you a jam.

Conventors? Perhaps you mean snap caps. There is the possibility that a firing pin may have pierced the cap and is still lodged there.Trying to open it by brute force will only damage the gun further.Your friends father will have to take the gun to a good gunsmith.Apart from that,I am not willing to offer any suggestion.

Try tapping the butt smartly on the floor a couple of times, that might release the jammed firing pin - that's if the brute force hasn't bent the pin :)

No but it is due to inferior quality snap caps, I think...
