Aviation

Posts that don't fit into any other category. If it's anything to do with guns, it probably doesn't belong here!

How could I possibly miss the super connie.
In case you have nothing better to do than looking at pictures, you might want to see some at : http://www.flickr.com/photos/_fulcrum/s ... 228872178/ some pix from the recent years, all digital. My film shots are not digitized and these days they get a bit paranoid (at many airports) when they see someone trying to do any serious pix of aeroplanes. But may be, that is the trick...I should pick a point and click innocuous camera.

Whoa Gillgurttej ! Now that's what I call a teaser. Do tell us the whole story, with pictures. Must be the air adventure of a lifetime.

Ashok

Fulcrum: the plane in question has to be the De Havilland Comet. Right ??

I am trying to understand how to paste pics. in here. The trip was for sure a lifetime experience even after being a pilot for the last 11 years. Flying low over the pole and the glaciers were amazing. Trying to find valleys to cross the Alps in Switzerland was another adventure.

I am an aviation enthusiast and a flight simmer . Just returned to guns after a couple of decades and aviation is no longer number one on my list.

Fulcrum, aviation photography at Indian airports (except defence aerodromes) is now permitted. Some ones got a scanned copy of the DGCA directive on the net. Google for Indian flight sim and aviation enthusiasts and you should get to the link.

My favourites ? F-4E (fantumfan2003 !!!), Mirage F-1, 747-400

Alright now back to the guns..... (LOL

I am a self confessed aviation junkie, and I actually dream them too. ...and I know there are at least 3-4 more on IFG. Am trying to draw them out, and other in the closet aviation folk.
My favourites are:
Commercial:
  1. Till 1950s: Dakota DC-3
    50s-late 70s: Boeing 707
    Late 70s onwards: A300
Military Combat
  1. WWII to early 70s: P51, XB 41 Liberator, Spitfire Mk II, and Avro Lancaster
Early to late 70s: Panavia Tornado
Late 70s and later: MiG 29, YF 22
Helicopter /Gunship - Apache. I used to live near the factory, and these guys used to do test runs around, awesome stuff.
What are yours?
