Availability of .40 and .357 Pistol cartridges in India

IFGians,

I wanted to learn more on the avilaibility of .40 and .357 Pistol cartdges in India, I know both are difficult to find but seek expert advice from the members here of any bleak chances I might have.

Reason: Trying to buy a pistol (.40 S&W is available and came to know about a desert eagle in .357) for my father's licence recently issued and I want to get something with high stopping power.

Might I ask if you have found a 40S&W pistol.Even I am looking for one.

About the Desert eagle, you must be talking about the 357 Magnum in desert eagle and not the 375.Or if its not the desert eagle and if its a pistol, you might be looking at a 357 Sig.

You would need to contact dealers around your city,

they would give you some clue.

Delhi / meerut / kanpur are the biggest markets in north India

surf through the dealers details in north india in this forum. some even have email addresses.

Finding .357 Ammo is not a big issue i have seen a dealer in lucknow with different Varieties. price starting from Rs 275 onwards

Please let me know the contact number to reach the dealer, I have written to many dealers and so far have received responses from 2 on emails and that too in negative.

I have called 6-7 dealer in Kanpur and Delhi and even they are saying that the pistol cartridges are not available and chances are very less.

as far as my personal experience counts,you will get a negative answer from many dealers until you walk in personally with a license or mention the some potential reference.
