Fine piece of writing Raj. We have the makings of a charter here.
A fifth point would be that many firearms are part our heritage and are of historical importance. Collectors, both individuals and museums, hardly constitute a threat to civil society.

Cone on, guys. Don't you know that engageing in an activity, and even enjoying it, that is not approved of by a politically-correct-thinking person, is offensive to that person and terribly inconsiderate?
In this day and age it just isn't done anymore to say, do, or defend things that might offend some tender liberal mind. It's just not right to say or do things that a POP (Perpetually Offended Person) might consider non-PC, and hence, offensive. Re-education camps are waiting! Cheers.

She can have my two bullets if her quota's too small to keep her gob shutThere are various loopholes in the country whereby procuring small arms illegally is as easy as buying betel nuts said Binalakshmi Nepram

Twenty rounds per weapon? I don't think so.There are two bullets per person in the world - enough to kill us all, twice over. And no dearth of arms to do it with either: there's a weapon for every 10 people on earth.
I wonder how she feels about a typical American gun owner who is not even a firearms enthusiast: he is likely to own a shotgun, a rimfire and a centerfire rifle and a pistol of two. People who have very little ammunition still have 200+ rounds on hand at a minimum. The people who commit deliberate murders tend to have much fewer weapons and ammunition than even the least interested lawful gun owner...a typical criminal has one weapon and under 50 rounds for it. Conversely, people like me keep at least thirty firearms (mostly self-loading rifles and handguns) and 20-30 thousand rounds of centerfire ammunition and as much rimfire ammunition because buying in bulk is cheaper. Curiously, people like me are also one of the most lawful demographics.
