Post by dodger » Thu Nov 06, 2008 6:01 pm

Hello Everyone,
I am Kshitij and i am new here. I am From M.P. and i am fond of Rifles since i was 9years old. I am Ready to Apply for my Arms License but Due to Elections i have to wait for another 2-3 Months. Till then I have time to Decide that should i Get a .315, .22 or the New .30? I really need your help and suggestions so that i may be able to Choose the correct weapon.
Before you give me your Valuable suggestions i would also love to tell you that i also want to Participate in Competitions, i would love planking at my Farm as well as i want to keep the same weapon for Self Protection also. please suggest me accordingly.
I would also Like to say that this is an Excellent Website . I hope it will help me too as it has helped a lot of my kind in the Past.
Thank you so Much.
Cheers..

Hi Dodger,

Welcome to IFG. The .22 LR is an excellent choice.

Welcome to IFG Dodger... :)
If you like competitions so much, maybe you should go in for a .22 itself. And when things go well and you can import your own (as a Renowned Shot), you could do away with .22 and get yourself a new Anschutz or something like that.. :)
Anyways.. guess I am confusing you more.. but its your call.. All the best and may you have a wonderful time at IFG :)

well thanx a lot for that but what makes me think about .315 and .30 are the Range and the Power of these Rifles n Ammo. Thats it.. Otherwise my First Choice would have been a .22LR

Simply put, both the .315 and .30 will do you no good in any ISSU regulated matches. Whereas, if you have a .22 permit, and become an NRAI member, you 'may' lay your hands on good match ammo, which will help you better your performance, leading to becoming a 'Renowned Shot' leading to custom free import...
And if this be the future case, you may very well go in for a 'Brand New Imported' .22 Peep Sight Anschutz, and shoot even higher scores :)
Personally, I have nothing against the .315 or the .30... but practically, how much of it will you put in use?
:)
