Hi Herb, That looks very nice.Nice field, good dog,good gun and good shooting.

How do you cook,if you do, the pheasants by the way?The ones I tried were quite dry and a bit stringy.

Hi Vikram, We cook it just like we cook chicken, typical Kerala masala fry. I like pheasants more than chicken.

The photos you saw was at the Pelee island annual pheasant hunt.

There is a game farm near my place, I hunt there sometimes. I also hunt crown land.

nice going herb, dam i could not hit a thing with a shotgun not the flying kind anyway. so what the story?

best to leave pheasant out side hung for few days then cook and eat it.

nagarifle- It is easy to hit pheasants on the wing as they are large birds and if you get the lead correct they are not difficult to bag. I find ducks & chukars (partridge) more difficult to hit.

Pheasants have to be taken on the wing as the dog flushes them from the cover and you see only once they are in the air.

Nice pics,Herb. Sorry to pester you with so many questions.What make is this SXS? Looks nice with straight grain wood.30" barrels? Don't you need to wear blaze orange while hunting?Hate that. How about bag limits.Thanks for sharing and your reply.

The SxS is Russian made Baikal with 28 inch barrels.

We have to wear orange and we do wear them, not for ducks. I normally take them off before taking pictures.
