Jaipur No, go, most likely you'll have to return via A'bad or bombay...hokay will start things rolling.
If I can get that website to open, can get a fair idea about distances, accom/licencing etc.
Wil try in a while.

Eljefe
No fishing in Jaipur.Infact very little water.Lots of plastic bags though  Was there from 22-25 October.Has become very touristy.Lots of people running after my car trying to convinvce me to hire them as a guide. Was afraid I would run over somebody. The fellow opposite the Mcdonald joint next to Rajmandir had a Savage 250-3000 lever action.Wanted 45,000 for it though.Could not visit any other gunshop nor see the house we used to stay in.

Take care,
penpusher

Asif,

Will know by this evening if we are going to Sat's place and if so when. We will need to plan based on that information.

If accomodation is a problem we can do a day trip - leave early morning and return late at night.

I wonder what the fishing will be like during that time of year.

See if there is anything closer - say within 50km radius of Delhi.

Just click on it Asif.....

Or you can go to google and seach for harya fisheries. It will come up but i don't think there is anything which you really want.

Road to Dadupur from delhi is Gr888. You have to take NH1 (G.T road) till Karnal and then a towards Yamuna Nagar then Ponta Sahib road. Road from Karnal to Yamuna Nagar is good. You can easily do Delhi to Dadupur in less than 4.5 hours. Earlier there use to be a Haryana Tourism hotel in Kalesar forest but i think they have closed it now.. I am not too sure though..

What info you want Asif, I ll try to help. Nearest place to stay from Dadupur will be Yamuna Nagar. There are many hotels in Yamuna Nagar but I feel that This is just one day trip. You can easily get out around 5:00Am and reach around 9:00 do fishing till evening and start around 5:00 you will be back in Delhi around 9:30.

I'll check about HT hotel at Hathnikund which was BTW an awesome place to stay for night. Lemme check and get back to you..

PS: I caught my first fish at Western Yamuna Canal in december.

Major fog season in dec, Inder, we would prefer to start early, fish the whole day ( and a bit of night fishing) and leave early morning next day.
Either Yamuna Nagar or Hathnikund hotels are fine-Also tell us where the water bodies are :) or we'll waste time asking around for rivers canals etc...Please PM and I'll pick your brains.

Yep It will be Fog season near Xmas. I have enquired about Hathnikund Hotel. Its closed now so either you have to stay at Yamuna Nagar or Poanta Sahib. I recommend staying at Poanta Sahib coz then you can fish at Yamuna River rather than Western Yamuna Canal and as far as water bodies are concerned. Major fishing spots in Haryana: Tajewala, Dadupur. Himachal: Downstream of Poanta Sahib. Don't worry about the routes. they are pretty straight forward. I will send a Map to you when you finalise. There are good spots for camping also but i can't tell you the exact location. We use to camp near one PWD rest house its on the bank of Yamuna River which flows with the road from Yamuna Nagar to Poanta sahib.

If you want to stay in proper kind of place then you can consider this

But they look a bit steep to me :

PS: Just a thought, If you are thinking of fishing then Rishikesh is also a good option.

Definately on, I had thought that this thread was dead till now. Wow no wonder eljefe has been going on damdaming but methings Suraj Kund is far better, size of water body is larger and is less fished. Are you here on Nov or Dec? Apologies you have mentioned Christmas holls but I may not be here in Dec. We couldn't go last weekend due to an emergency...we realised that Doc's do sleep at times. But we'll take a trip next week if posssible. You listening you all work and no play Asif ;-).

Regards,

Dev

P.S. I saw the link and it works.

We was talking about Surajkund...I'll take you there as soon as you are better. The good part is that its a nice drive, close to south delhi and we can set up fast. Give me a call and we can set up for Sat. Even Mr.Hemmingway has been down with the flu since Sunday.

Regards,

Dev
P.S. I am amazed at Haryana Fisheries, you know this state really has its act together for tourists.
