Iulian Raicea- Olympic Bronze Medallist and High Performance Shooting Coach

Coach Introduction: Mr. Iulian Raicea from Romania born on 4th of March 1973, started shooting when he was just 12 but became serious about it at the age of 14. Introduced to the sport by his father, he first tried his hand at 10m Air Pistol, then at the 50m Free Pistol but his love for a faster event grew in his heart and he opted for the 25m Rapid Fire Pistol event in 1987. He won medals in many ISSF competitions but his performance at the 2000 Sydney Olympics is the most significant because that is where he won the Bronze medal in the 25m Rapid Fire Pistol event.

At the recent Beijing Olympics Iulian had a double role to play, both as a shooter from Romania and as the chief coach of the Thai shooting team. Iulian finished 9th in the Rapid Fire Pistol event at Beijing with a score of 576, just 4 points behind the Gold medallist shooter.

He is an active top shooter and a high performance coach, a combination which is rare to find. He understands the needs and problems of shooters aiming at high performances.
