hi EL Boss
point taken amigo,

hi Vikram
you are 100% right its the Lanber, no its not me, my mate Jerry, as for stalking? i am always open given the chance, i had an offer of stalking of MOD grounds but had to turn it down due to my not being in the UK for longer time and one can't just take over a estate for one of two hunt per year.

For deer, FMJ are not allowed in the UK only soft nose ie expanding rounds, that i am sure of. However one can get confirmation from ones Firearms inquiry officer easily enough.

Are you looking to go stalking?

dear naga when you say "offer to shoot", do you mean a contract to control deer population or the shooting rights for a year for which you pay? If the latter, how much does it cost?
Regards, shooter.

like most things in hunting, its to do with contacts etc, friend of friend and so on. one needs to be in the loop so to speak and wait a little and an opportunity crops up of someone needs a little help to fill their quota etc and if one is will to go out of there way one finds invitation coming on a regular basis.

hi shooter

a loop is always a closed one, unless you brake it. :D
where in the uk are you based?

here are some of the things one can do if not done so.

always good to join British deer society (BDS) around 40 quid, (BDS have local area wise groups) if not already have DSC level one get one as its a big help and will open up doors.

find out the deer estates near you and see if they have a stalker or need one,

is your firearms inquiry officer a stalker? if so he can give local advice.

i was lucky in the scene that for long time i knew people in the hunting circle so that helped a bit.
