If I am not wrong its priced around 7Lakh at showrooom. so does it make sense to go for it when you can get a safari by paying one more Lakh :?

I haven't driven a safari but have had a bolero GLX for about 6 years. Most times you won't need the a 4X version unless you drive on marshy areas or sandy places. A non 4X can take you through most forests and mountains with ease. I've heard the 4wd wears your tyres out faster.

This is a much better value proposition than the safari... even in 2WD its better.

1. better handling on bad roads (and off roads)
2. safari is a white elephant to maintain. Also the one you get for 1 lac more is the base version without the 2.2 VTT engine.
3. 4WD is not much required. The bolero 4WD has a leaf sring suspension for both front and rear making a little uncomfortable in places where you use 4WD.
4. The Di engine was superb giving very good milage. the Crde is nothing but a detuned version of the older scorpio eninge. hence we should expect decent mileage from this vehicle, keeping in mind the lesser wt. of the vehicle.

my 2 cents!!!

Safari base LX 2.2VTT is 7,97,390 showroom and Bolero is 6.97.

Don't really know about VFM but there most of the people are happy with performance of new Safari if you go by the feedbacks on TBHP.

But one thing is there Safari is a looker :!:

Its a looker with lots of body roll!! anyways.. its always a matter of personal choice. I prefer lower CG .. while there are a lot of people who like the tall stance of safari/scorpio, which I dont like at all.

diskaon.
