Yaj, to give you an idea of what good murrel action can really be like at Forbes, chew on this...
A few weekends back, the water was clear and low and Viper caught 24 murrel and had 21 misses. That's a mind boggling (to me) 45 murrel strikes during just one day's fishing.

You did not express any interest but if you are really keen, I will take you along sometime this coming November.
Really keen means you will have to buy your tackle before the trip or soon after.

Caveman teaches Iceman to fish!
Harsh, nice murral you've caught. I'm sure you're now 'hooked'!
Btw, is that your own lifejacket that you're wearing?
Mack The Knife introduced me to angling and I first fished with him in Cauvery a year ago (on Nov 1).

I am sorry but you will have to make yourself free to suit my convenience, not the other way round. If Mo cannot make it next, most probably this coming Saturday, I will let you know.
I also recall GG telling me that he wanted to start classes for beginners. Pester him into getting started with this.

Yaj,
There are plenty of murrel and other fish at Forbes but getting so many murrel to hit the lure require good to ideal conditions. The previous largest bag I had heard of was 21 murrel earlier in the year.
Last but not least, it's best to try for numbers without another angler in the coracle.

Yes i suppose the water gods have to be smiling

. What are the water levels like right now?
Another thing I was wondering about: How much weight does the coracle support? On my account of course

The water level was high yesterday but is known to fluctuate rapidly depending on heavy rains or how much water is released at the Headworks dam. The coracle we use will support our combined weights and a hefty ghillie to boot, so don't worry on that account.
