Where are your cards, Anand? Or are you yet to attain your competition frame of mind?

Sid, if you want to shoot four, that's fine. It's just that your score wont be counted, like mine. ;)

I was hoping to do two sets - one with the hW77 + scope and another with the IHP - Open sights. Looks like I will have to do both with open sights now :(
Will hopefully post in a day or two... :)

Shot my cards today.Realised strength levels have gone down in the last few months since the rifle seemed heavier than I remembered :-(
For some reason my scope refused to come into sharp focus at 10 metres but I dont think it made much difference.
After the first 5 shots i forgot about careful aiming and was just shooting as the dark blur of the target came into the crosshairs. After the 4th card I was struggling to finish the require quota.Just about managed to do the required 30 shots in 28 min. I think that if I had taken longer I wouldnt have completed my quota ;-)
This rifle certainly wasn't made for paper punching ;-) My heart rate was rocketing and hands were shaking by the time I finished.
Could someone please help me with the scoring?
Webley Patriot 0.25 rifle
3 X 9 50 Golden Eagle scope
HN Diabolo Spitz-Kugeln 0.25 cal pellets.
28 min.

Yaj,

The Patriot is not an easy rifle to shoot continuously and your scores are even harder to make out because of the tears.

The best that I can come up with is:

Card 1: 5, 5, 8, 8 & 6 - 32/50
Card 2 : 3, 3, 5, 5,& 6 - 22/50.
Card 3 : 3, 6, 6, 8 & 9 - 32/50.
Card 4 : 4, 6, 8, ?& ? - ?/50
Card 5 : 0, 3, 5, 7 & 8 - 23/50
Card 6 : 3, 4, 4, 4 & 8 - 23/50
Total: 103+? / 300

Incidentally, Anand had raised the time limit to 40 minutes.

Thanks for being a good sport. ;)

Thanks for the help with the scoring Mack The Knife. Made a real mess didn't I ?The paper was just tearing up when the shots were close to each other. Probably would work better if I had glued the paper onto the box rather than pinning it on.
Card 4 in the lower group the pellet holes are at the bottom and the top the sort of bridge between is just a tear so its probably a 4 and a 5 right?

Card 1: 5, 5, 8, 8 & 6 - 32/50
Card 2 : 3, 3, 5, 5,& 6 - 22/50.
Card 3 : 3, 6, 6, 8 & 9 - 32/50.
Card 4 : 4, 6, 8, 5 & 4 - 27/50
Card 5 : 0, 3, 5, 7 & 8 - 23/50
Card 6 : 3, 4, 4, 4 & 8 - 23/50
Total: 159 / 300
Is that right?
Regards,
Yaj.
PS: Did not know about the revised time.Could have used a breather after Card 4

I had already scored those as 6 and 4.

In the upper group, the 8 is clear whilst the two questionable ones may be 2 and 5. Could you confirm?

What paper were you using? Thickish chart paper or the greeting card paper should work reasonably well.

Don't glue the paper as it will tear when you remove it. You could stick it with scotch tape though. I use a shoe box filled with glossy mags and taped shut and support the target against the surface with two rubber bands.

Yes Mack The Knife, that should be 2 and 5.
I had got the targets printed out and Xeroxed so standard sort of paper used in copiers. I had pinned the paper at the four corners to a cardboard carton filled with magazines .

So the score should read as follows?
Card 1: 5, 5, 8, 8 & 6 - 32/50
Card 2 : 3, 3, 5, 5,& 6 - 22/50.
Card 3 : 3, 6, 6, 8 & 9 - 32/50.
Card 4 : 4, 6, 8, 5 & 2 - 25/50
Card 5 : 0, 3, 5, 7 & 8 - 23/50
Card 6 : 3, 4, 4, 4 & 8 - 23/50
Total: 157 / 300

Yes siree and shift to thicker card paper if possible. Just curious but do you have enough pellets to use for such comps? If not, we will lower the total number of shots next time.

Great shooting with such a heavy rifle. Like they say in Nike,"You are stronger than you think."
