Sharad,
I have only used UPS for fishing related items, not airguns. It is quite possible that they may not even carry an airgun.
It usually takes three days for a parcel to arrive from the U.S. via UPS.
If UPS does accept the parcel and the customs do not detain the air-pistol, then it should be at your door within a few days.

Re: Airgun import experiences - via post/ courier route
.. In the light of all the new information(thank u once again guys for making a newbie feel at ease)i feel i will travel the well trampled path and go with Fed Ex. received a mail from the topairgun guy who said the fed ex rates i get from him will be at least thrice the USPS(he didn't mention ups ) as he is a pyramid reseller. He further suggested that i should order directly from pyramidair if i want slightly saner rates(i.e double of what USPS would cost). So i will just go with the pyramidair ,Fed Ex combo.. Before i make the final payment would request fellow members if they think it is a wise move.. kindly comment and help a tormented soul.. just feel like logging now and paying but i know nothing good ever comes out of on the spur of notions. .. thank you for your patience ..

Just keep your cool. Delhi postal customs are very decent long as you carry the paperwork. You might have tried US Parcel Post, which would charge about US$35 for an pistol till Delhi.

Hello Dev,
Actually i ordered it via Fed Ex ($104) in the hope that they might deliver at my doorstep . However in the event of that not happening, will just take the required documents and try my luck at the FPO.
@ Saptarshi : the rates were decided by the paypal converter... wished that i placed this order couple of weeks ago with $ at 42.. would have saved some much needed moolah.

I have ordered from PyramidAir, but while in the US... not from India...
I am extremely happy with their pricing, quality of goods and delivery (Although I opted for land delivery which took a wee bit of time)...
