hi all
sorry am busy with shifting homes, between three location kind of away from the PC which has also gone down, using the knee pc or the laptop,
olly the pic are they of the bulldog or ur muscles?
Rusty the reason the Ddarings find it hard to pull is that lack the handsome physic of Rusty Hood.
the poundage is between 40 and 80 pounds, as you know it can be adjusted via the cambs.
before i brought it with me from the UK i had the bow checked out ie the strings with quicks at my local one near the Hampton palace court, the guy who does the strings says it ok for while and no damage.
Ten please do put a twinkel in rusty hood eyes and you know that smile for toothpaste add where the teeth is shown with a sparkle? can we have that, i am not saying that rusty hood is not a handsome fellow, but we have to sell him even more handsome to the banglowood crowd.

The bow is in great shape Rusty, it was with me all the while.Last saturday SidKid called up and said that Olly was interested in having a look at the bow, so I took it along to the range. Then the blasts happened and we felt it better to let the bow remain at Olly's rather than me carrying it back.
With care the drawstrings last for several years. I'd seen some pretty maligned compounds at a resort in Himachal, which didn't need a change in 2 years I was told.

hi Rusty
how to adjust the cams?
you got me there i never needed to do it, only once and then that was at the quick archery range/shop the man did it, i saw him adjusting the string on the wheel cam.
there should be a manual on the net i saw it once. i might have one smiler to this one, however my pc is out of use at the moment. so can not pass it on.
as for the string they last for few years if taken care of. as OUP says. i had it checked out just before i gave it to sid, while in UK the man at the shop said no need to change for while yet, as not frayed or damaged.
Arrows i had sent two to sid by courier by got broken in four parts.
Might let you have two to play with if you are good boy

Parag, OUP and Naga, thanks for the replies.
Anupam, if you are interested in buying the bow, you have first dibs on it and needn't hesitate on my account.
Parag, could you recount your bow and arrow import experience please.
Thanks.

this was in early 2003. i ordered a compound bow (fred bears, 35lbs 26inch draw length. i wanted a 55-60lbs one, but i was only 16 back then was not sure if i could pull 55lbs) and a set of 12 arrows (purple jazz 28inches) from fsdiscountarchery.com . it cost be about 200 - 250 $ for the bow and abt 50 $ for the arrows i think. it was shipped to an uncle in the US who then posted it by USMAIL to my mumbai address.
they were in 2 separate parcels.
3 weeks the arrows were delivered to my place my the postman. i was thrilled. was expecting the bow very soon. about a month later i got a letter from the customs saying tat my bow had been detained and i needed the following.
1. import permit
2. letter from archery asso of india
3. and some other documents.
i had no clue about the laws while ordering it. i got a letter from the company i work for(adventure company ) stating that i am doing my archery training under their guidance. i sent them that letter.
about a week after that, i go another letter saying that my bow had been released and i should collect it from the local post office afterpaying a 35% duty....
i was happy. i did not pay anyone any bribe. i was probably just plain lucky. so i have my bow and 12 arrows. havent tried importing since then.
mind you, its an addiction. while you are pulling the bow, the only thing you can think of is hitting the target. its a real stress buster.
all the best to you. hope you get yourself a good bow.
