What a match, and what a shuffle of results.
The final shot of 4.4 tragically made US-Emmons miss his gold, while two bad early shots bought down reigning record holder Rajmond to the third slot; QIU Jian of China bet Jury of Ukraine by the finest whisker to move from position 4 to Gold, in the last shot!
While Rajput Sanjiv came 26th, our own Gagan Narang came out in the 13th position with a score of 1167

I think that 3-P is easily the most challenging rifle sport, which requires great skill across all three positions as well as the mental and physical stamina to go along the 120 round match. Hats off to these great shooters.

Mathew Emmon's seems to be jinxed. At Athens he had the gold in the bag but cross-shot his last shot in the finals and lost. Really feel sorry for this guy.

BTW, the most challenging rifle sport is good old hunting. None of this static shooting bollocks aided with stiff jackets, stiff trousers, flat soled boots, fancy underwear, a sling to keep your jitters in check and a glove to protect your soft city-boy hands. So there!

I was referring to ISSU grade Rifle Match competitions. Given Air Rilfe, Prone and 3-P, the latter is surely the most challenging when it comes to overall performance and endurance... what say?

well,

what about the shooting events of the winter olympics, i would say that involve a lot more skill, and that too skills in very different types of things.

like ski cross country for a long distance and then shoot 50 mts targets etc.
