I'm a squash coach by profession, amongst the better known ones. While registering at this website, I never thought I would get so involved- I log on every day now! One of the reasons is that this site has very high standards in terms of contents (knowledge etc) and the way it is run (code of conduct etc). I have a couple of points for the respective parties- the ones that uses text jargon, and the ones who moderate and correct members to maintain standards.

Shortcuts, which is what text jargon is, won't impress anyone, even when used in SMSs. If anyone finds any benefit in reducing his workload at the inconvenience of others, that's improper.

As a coaching principle, we consider it improper to criticize anyone in public. If moderators of this site do so, it will only turn off members needlessly. Hence a PM is appropriate. The issue for which a criticism is deserved may be highlighted to others openly.

I hope this helps towards making this an even better website.

Hi Ai, thanks for the suggestion, while your advice is appreciated, we do run a bit short on 'good thoughts' for for the SMS addicts...a PM may also be sent , to keep it discreet,but after umpteen infarctions, the old maxim of-pour encouragement les autres-never sounded truer!

I once had a girlfriend in South Africa, whom I used to stay in touch with SMS. This was times when a single SMS was costing about 12 bucks, and incoming calls were charged too...
A sample SMS:
'GMrngSwtHrt.LvUSoMchnMsUSoMch.ThnkAbtUSoMch.HpUMsMe2.EvrBrthITkMksMeWnUSoMchMr.LvULtsNMre.Bi4Nw.ACK'
... I never did hit it completely with her.... with such messages, what can one expect

Sounds like a phone service ad in US about son calling telephone operator to make a collect call to his father and to accept call from MR wehadason something on this line.
