Re: Urgent help required to save an IFGian

Badshah, having suffered a ruptured disk myself almost thirty years ago I can tell you that you would be crazy not to take the surgical option. I wasn`t given the choice at the time and suffered years of pain and misery as a result - and it still gives problems now. At one stage - more than 15 years after the event - I had to have a series of epidural injections to help control the pain.......until one was messed up causing even more agony ! There is NO non-surgical procedure that can assist.......and some of the options can cripple you for life - DON`T even consider seeing a chiropractor for example
The current surgical procedures are remarkably non-invasive and the speed of recovery astonishing.
Have the surgey and bless the day - you KNOW it makes sense.

Badshah: Having a herniated disk myself, "I can feel your pain". Had a co-worker who had surgery, though long before less invasive techniques were developed, she was in pain for months after the op. Physiotherapy helps, but won't make it go away, and the pain can flare up anytime. Heard good things about magnet therapy, but have never tried it myself for my back. Only found one per.scription drug that alleviated the pain, but with totally intolerable side effects. Doctors, of course, advise according to their specialty. So, if you can't live with it any longer, put your trust with a specialist and go for it. Speedy recovery!

back pain...

Post by sat » Thu Jul 31, 2008 11:33 am

I too was laid up in bed several times with chronic back pain 7-8 year ago, instead of going in for surgery I took the alternate route. Ended up doing yoga. I can now carry 2 heavy suitcases with no problem.

Do get in touch with the yoga institute, santa cruz, Mumbai They have good doctors, Orthopaedic surgeon who can advice you - Orthopaedic - Back and Joint Problems

The yoga institue has a 2-Day Orthopaedic – Back and Joint Problems Camp (from 9.00 a.m. to 5.00 p.m.) every month.

I would advice you read a book - Healing back pain by Dr John Sarno

www.healingbackpain.com/books

Some doctors feel that any negative emotion (anger, worry, road rage, frustration etc) create chemicals in the body which gets stored near the spinal cord & end up weakening the support system of the spinal cord.

all the best

HI Badshah, sorry for the late look up-have filter probs at work :(
If you deserve your surgery, i.e pain, weakness, quality of life is affected-do take it. Delhi , i can heartily recommend DR AN JHA of Max Devki Devi and DR.DAS from Indian Spinal Injuries Center-both ex colleagues, and fine spine surgeons.
Will PM more details
While non operative methods may work for some, as a spinal injury patient myself, I would recommend surgery.

Hi Badshah
Sorry to hear about your injury.
Abhijeet and Asif have already given you correct advice.
See a proper Doctor in Delhi and follow his recommendation, do not get involved with these half baked Arabic doctors in the Middle East they have no knowledge, it is the same story in Dubai too. No specialist of any standing is available here, why should he be here in the first place when he is happy and well set in India or USA or UK. Doesn't make sense.

I will be in India including in Delhi during 2nd and 3rd week of August, if you are there in Delhi will call upon you to meet you.

Wish you a speedy recovery.

Badshah,

Till the time that you manage to get your self proper treatment/opinion try and take as much of bed rest that you can get. I sufferd from a slip disc problem in June1991 . It started as a bad pain in my lower back. Though it was diagnosed correctly but the doctor never told me to take rest. Wish he had done that.So I kept on taking the pysiotherapy and poping the pain killers. By Sept I virtually lost sensation in my left leg. From Oct 1991 to Oct 1992 I was virtually bed ridden. The pain was sheer hell. In August GOD finally sent a family frend...his treatment helped and so did the long rest that he had advised. I did try a lot of alternate therapies but nothing gave me relief.I still refer to Prof Tuli when ever I get even a pinch of pain in my back. I excercise daily for my back and that what really helps. In case you need to refer to Dr. S.M.Tuli he practices at VIMHANS Hospital at Delhi and I personally know him and he surely can be of help. For me he was the MESIAH who saved me.

Just go to the right doctor ..thats very important and take ample of rest.Ohh please give ur guns some rest till ur back aache is fine otherwise all other guns would refuse to fire and function...LOL...u can ask ur doc which other guns cease to fire in a back ache. :)

Hope u feel better soon

with tons of good wishes,

AC

Mysore Members- Help required

Post by badshah0522 » Sun Aug 10, 2008 3:09 pm

Dear Members,
As most of you know that recently i got a Slipped Disk and asked for suggestions from members to treat it.

I came to know that there is a Doctor who treats and cures slipped disc problems in minutes - The doctor"s name is MEHBOOB KHAN and is available at K.R Nagar just 30 Km from Mysore and only we need to carry the MRI and other scan reports. I heard he is very famous and everyone in Mysore know about him.

Mysore members please try to find more about Mahboob Khan,,is it true that he can treat it?? What kind of treatment does he gives -medcines /therepy/surgery ??

Thanks .

(Mods please excuse me as i am starting another thread for personal reason.)
