Sent my babe to the beauty parlour
Gentlemen,
I got my IOF .22 stock pepped up . Kindly take a look at the pics in my private album.
http://indiansforguns.com/album.php?user_id=286
Aims :-
1. My aim was NOT weight reduction of the rifle , I only wanted it contoured and checkered properly. The wooden stock anyways is light enough , the main weight being contributed by the barrel and the action.
2. The idea was to do away with the yellow colour on the firearm and to get rid of the scratch marks on the grip and fore end .
3. The pistol grip was too bulky for me , so it had to be slimmed down.
4. The cheek pad was causing a negative offset while aiming (according to my built and stance) so I thought of getting rid of it.
5. The fore end too needed a bit of contouring and checkering.
I test fired it after the changes and am very pleased with the balance and performance not to mentioned about looks.
best,
RP.

At present I am in no mood to pay any attention to the metallurgical side of it. Tapering a so called "bull barrel" is something I cannot digest. Moreover the black powder coating suits me fine as far as THIS firearm goes.
To tell you honestly, I have been literally drooling over a Marlin .22 which belongs to a Ophthalmology teacher of mine for a few years now. Lets see when he sells it to me, so this IOF .22 will be parted with some day and thats why no radical changes.
