Introduction

Post by Desert Eagle .50 » Sun Jul 06, 2008 9:12 pm

Hello fellow members

This is Desert Eagle .50 . I am 28 yrs old and recently settled in Calcutta.
But I spent most of my life in UP and 2.5 yrs in Bihar.
In Uttar Pradesh, I was in the Kanpur- Agra belt, where almost everybody had
a gun. Be it a country-made katta or illegally procured PB ( 9mm) Italian, Czech
or German. Some even had the .32 bore IFO Ashani ( legally purchased).
So I developed a passion for guns.

Although I don't have a fire arm at present , I am going to legally purchase
an .32 cal IOF Ashani as soon as possible .

I found this wonderful site while doing a research on .32 cal Ashani.

I would like to sincerly thank the founder of this website, admistrator(s) and
the team of moderators for starting , running and maintaining this site.

Regards

Desert Eagle .50

Welcome to IFG, You have a good taste in pistols, the Desert Eagle is one of the best ever made, except the origin prevents it from being available in the Middle East.

9 mm pistols are sold in the Agra region ? These illegal gun traders seem to be having a field day. All the more reson to allow imports for the poor victim of criminals to be better armed to defend themselves.

Thanks everybody!!

Yes I feel that the government should relax the import duties on firearms and 9mm Cal handguns should be included in the NPB catagory.

Cheers !

Desert Eagle,

The point Badshah is making is that the current duty rate is irrelevant - since all imports of firearms & ammo have been banned since circa 1984 or so.

Till the 1950's commercial imports were allowed by dealers, as well as personal imports. The commercial imports of arms & ammo was halted sometime in the late 50's (not sure of the year) but personal imports (with ever tightening rules) were allowed all the way up to the mid-1980's when they were banned altogether. It is this ban on imports of firearms that has led to skyrocketing prices...

Cheers!

Desert Eagle ... A favourite, along with the Colt Python. Manufactured, if I am not mistaken, by an Isreal company, for the US...
Welcome aboard. Anyone with that name should be doing great guns :)
