This is not a Broomhandle hence not German cause that uses a charger for loading from top.
Could this be the Astra, which has a bottom feed and is full auto.know a bloke who has one.
The Astra variant comes with a high cap mag AFAIK 15 or 20 rounds.

Good piece to own, lucky guy :)
Sanjay this is the broomhandle u r talking about .It is one of our family member asset.hope u will like the pics.... Cheers

What calibre and make is this blunderbuss ?

Looks like some stuff with which we drove the British away from India ! should be displayed in a National Independence museum with the owner of course being allowed to take it for shooting sessions.

Badshah,

The Mauser broom handle was manufactured in calibers other than 7.63

Great specimen you've got there Badshah! Yes the mauser 'broomhandle' was also made in 9mm Luger. The 9mm can be easily distinguished as it has a inverted 9 carved into the wooden broomhandle. AFAIK the 'broomhandle' name came from the peculiar shape of the handle. The wooden stock had nothing to do with it being named thus.

The pistol has a fair amount of rust spots. The holster/butt is in better condition than most that I have seen. The box seems to be a later addition.Locally made perhaps?

Because t Magazine appears to be different from the 30 Mauser, ( 7.62 mm ) that's why I asked which calibre and maker referred to is it an Austrian / Hungarian derivative or Mauser ?

But Shahid,

The magazine housing is standard Mauser C96 fare.

Any other magazine arrangement, on the other hand would provoke a questioning mind.... but not this.

The one Jonah was handling(Extended detachable type) was less common...most of the time they were lumped together with full auto Mausers (Schnellfeuer)... in 9mm and 7.63 or 7.65

Badshah's Mauser is regular stuff... but no less impressive!

Thanks a lot every one.

CC i wish i could offer you to test fire but at present it is in Safe custody ,once it will be out it is always there for u ppl.
The pistol condition is not the worst as it is visible from exterior because it is in custody since long time ,so no maintenence, whenever i visit the shop i do it my self .
