I've got it.
Its a customized .177. Built by Dr. Shirsat. I am told she does 800fps. The barrel is a Hammerli and the main spring is imported. It has a muzzle weight. The trigger is not at all like the IHP. Its atleast 50% better. Has a nice feel and balance to it. Not too heavy. Paid 6000/-

Looks good. Does Dr. Shirsat do freelance or is this just a personal favor?

Looks pretty sweet
Well the question is how good does it shoot? Do let us know more about the trigger mechanism and how good the groupings are. From what i have read about Dr. Shirsat - i believe you've got yourself one nice thing to plink:)
Cheers
Sid

the trigger still looks to be a direct link type, without any settings related to weights or stages.
please let us know about the trigger more and possibly some pictures of groupings it does.
cheers sanjiv

Is it based on the National 25 or the 35?
Congrats on your new buy, i'm sure you'll have a blast.

Thank you to all of you.
The SPAR is a personal favour from the doc.
I had told him I wanted one that shot well up-to 25mtrs. I have been assured it does.
The trigger is the standard IHP one having received the docs attention of course.
She is based on the 25 I think. I am also looking forward to the first groupings. Should be able to do that this weekend. Anyone from Mumbai willing to spend some good time and help me out ?
I will give you more details on the specs.

Lol I like that.. the S.P.A.R. weapon sounds straight out of a '60s Bond movie. Yes, I'm from Mumbai - just starting out at the Savarkar Range at Dadar.

Here is the first set of shots fired from the SPAR. Used an old telephone directory on our complex terrace at a range of about 33ft (10m approx)
You can see the pellets used H&N Diabolos
I feel the 3.25" grouping is because of my lack of skills, not the gun or the pellets.
I have also joined the basic AR course at Savarkar AR club in Mumbai and about to finish it. Will sign up for the Club membership immediately after that.

my exp with about 5 diff pellet types shows the pointed ones to have the worst groupings of the lot, the best i got on my mod 35B .22 was using flat head wadcutters, you could try those and check the grouping, i earlier was a lousy shot, went thru a few sites learning how to shoot and now get 1 inch groupings at about 10m. In short, it talkes about of a good regulated breathing, not aiming for more that 8-9 sconds, and breathe out a bit then hold breth then squeze teh trigget, some sites say teh trigger should disengage as a surprise, you should not be sort of waiting for it.
You got a great looking gun, have safe fun with it

I sometimes shoot inside my house and a telephone book is priceless in those cases
cheers,
rishu

Hi Manish,
Fisrtly congrats on the new piece,it looks very cute! About the trigger unit,I had a close look at the picture and I doubt if a Diana trigger uint will fit-as the trigger on the Spar seems to be a bit far begind in comparison with the cylinder. Tell u what go to the Chambers site and get a print out of the Diana t-05 trigger unit and handover the same to Dr.Shirsat, see if he can match the part or will there need to be any modifications done.
Let me know later.
Take care!
