Was fancy free last evening so decided to spruce up the old girl a bit.
Before (lower knife and sheath)
Whilst sanding down.
After
Edge sharpening still pending.

Read the first post and see the pics again. 'Semi-full works', if you like.

The other one has been packed and waiting for Inder to pick it up. He better do it tomorrow because I am off to Shiva again on Friday.

Am I becoming a fishing addict? Trying to get away this sunday for a few hrs of sock and gunny sack retrieval...Does the threading on the haft hold the grips snug after all these years ?What's it called, the pommel? I had a Gerber Mark 5 (I think) many years ago in Med school, gifted it to a dear friend.

Yes, it's called a pommel and considering this is the second time I have opened it up, the threads are in excellent condition and it holds everything nice and tight.
The correct term for the haft is rat tail tang.
