Fermented hops ?
You guys imbibe some strange things.......Hops aren`t fermented, they`re a flavouring agent. Technically - as I understand matters - they`re what makes beer, beer - otherwise it would be `Ale`.

Oye Grumpy you be master brewer too. ;-) Jokes aside i was just trying to disguise the beverage choice this being a public forum and all. But I'LL be wary of what I write knowing eagle eye is up and about.

Just visit the NRAI website and go through the match book, everything is explained. Just read it again as I've a feeling that you know it better than the bible. :-)

Some disguise - you`ll have to work on your subtlety !
Is there some sort of prohibition on mentioning alcoholic beverages ?

On a more serious note; When/where is your next event ?
Please keep us posted.

It's not everyday that one gets a chance to nitpick on Grumps. Ales and lagers both have hops as the flavouring agent, bitterness. The fermentation process is different with the ales using top-fermentation and the lagers bottom fermentation.

Nit pick as much as you like Vickers because although you are right......you`re wrong.
What is referred to as `Ale` nowadays is actually - and usually - beer and uses hops for flavouring. CAMRA - The Campaign for Real Ale` - should actually be `CAMREB` ...... which doesn`t sound anything like as good.
`Ale` is the historically traditional English drink - hops weren`t introduced to this country until the 15th century when they were brought in from Holland. Because the malt was intrinsically sweet, `gruit` - a blend of herbs and sometimes spices - was introduced to the Ale brew to counteract the sweetness.
The germanic de.scription `beer` was introduced to distinguish the new foreign, hopped brew from the indigenous ale.
Yes, lager is bottom fermented and `real` beer/Ale top fermented.
Hops are introduced to the wort but they are irrelevent to the fermentation process as such.
You can`t out nit-pick the arch-nitpicker ! LOL.

Next event should be the trials for .22 to be held by the Delhi State around September. I am going to the GV Mavalankar in October anyway for sir pistol as my old score is still good. Just waiting for my hogs leg the trusty IZH Baikal 46m to reach me, it should be with the postal customs by now.

Typo eagle eye that should be air pistol, I like the lord pistol thought though :-) there was a movie in which there was a gun kata and the master of the gun kata could easily take out a bunch of mp5 toting hordes. Cool neh... warikamasen Sensei Grumpy?

I knew what you meant........but I firmly believe in kicking a man when he is down. One, it`s more fun and two, it stops him getting up and kicking you back.
