Post by vjha55 » Mon Jan 07, 2008 9:22 pm

Made full payment Rs 59,000/- for pistol . Now not interested in pistol. Want refund. How much time it will take for the whole process? Any one having gone through this refund trauma?

HI
i booked ashani in nov. last year. changed my mind and opted for .22 rev which i purchased on feb 5,2007. on seventh of feb i send a letter regarding the refund of my amount. on ninteenth i got a letter or you can say the allotment letter of the pistol with information that the delivery of gun is scheduled on 15/3/07. on 19/3/07 i got a letter with a pre-reciept bill which i have to sign and send it back to them. on the same day i posted back that reciept and on 21/4/07 i got the cheque of refund.that is how it goes. it took nearly two months in my case.
take care.

Send them another letter via registered post. Keep on doing this and maintain copies of each letter you send in this manner and also the registered post counter foils. Send at least 3 reminders, spaced 1 week apart.

If you do not get a response for another 30 days (1 week after the last reminder), then send an application under the RTI Act 2005 to the PIO at the factory (get a lawyer to draft if for you). The lawyer who files the RTI application for you will guide you through appeals if required etc.

Remember -
a) Document all communication with them.
b) The RTI Act 2005, is the most powerful weapon in your hands with which to combat Indian bureaucracy.

Cheers!
Abhijeet

Thanks Abhijit,
I will do precisely that, but it is really dragging on. Well when you read their mannual it just says that they will deduct only Rs 500/- in such a soft tone as if whole refund process would end in a minute---but governmet organisation cannt chage its behaviour>
