Rahul

Sahib.. there are no chiefs here all are Indians so drop this. Members can be blunt to the point of being embarrassing and calling spade a spade. That can be misconstrued some times but there might have been exceptions too. Have fun

And see soon this kind of leg pulling spirals in to discussions with unhappy results.
Sometimes when I reflect back on all the wine I drink I feel shame. Then I think about the workers in the vineyards and all of their hopes and dreams. If I didn’t drink this wine, they might be out of work and their dreams would be shattered. Then I say to myself, “It is better that I drink this wine and let their dreams come true than be selfish and worry about my liver.”

Think what you want but I had no clue what it meant.

Rahul

I am glad you are taking all this in the right spirit. you are from Delhi so should hook up with Delhi Darlings for drinks and maybe fishing trips to toxic greens.

hi rhandle welcome aboard!
when trying to handle a snake (unknown ones included), please bear in mind the following:
even the bit of a non poisonous can be harmful (fatal very very ralery).
in a national park , let alone the core zone, physically handling any fauna (and most flora) is ILLEGAL.
Supplying photographs of illegal actions on the internet and admitting to doing it is not a wise idea.
IFG doesnt condone any illegal activities.
in case you have to kill a snake in a national park, is illegal compound esp when ure are provoking it.

Under other circumstances, keep a pronged stick handy, dont put your weight on the front foot as you will need to snap back if the snake turns on you.
Make sure other people are not near you as if u need to make a dash, u wont collide with one another in a panic.
Tie a noose at the end of a strong cord and attach the noose end (with a piece of strong cord) to the pronged end of the stick.
Take care the prongs are not too long like that of a shooting stick but just around an inch long.
Keep a bag/ basket ready nearhand. if shown a cloth bag, the snake will go into it.
Shooting a snake with a handgun needs a lot of practice. A missed shot will rob you of the precious seconds to flee.
Snakes never chase their victims. Most bites take place when someone accidently disturbs them. Otherwise if u leave one alone (leave the scene) they leave you alone. So you wont need a handgun for defence against them.
Keep a good big knife handy. smaller knives cant 'chop' and arent good for 'slicing' action as they sli[p over the scales.
You want more gun control? Use both hands!

God made man and God made woman, but Samuel Colt made them equal.

One does not hunt in order to kill; on the contrary, one kills in order to have hunted. by Jose Gasset.
