hello rhandle
The snake in the rather dark background is most probably a rat snake. rat snakes are perfectly safe to handle as long as you allow them a sense of movement, such as allowing them to keep moving on your arm and transferring them from arm to arm. The book i referred to is (was) available in Chennai. i will try to get you a copy if you were to pm me your address.

Hi Sudhaiob,

I have just sent you the PM with my address, telephone number and email id.

I am realy thankful to you for helping me out. Not many people I know love snakes :(

Best regards
Rahul
Sometimes when I reflect back on all the wine I drink I feel shame. Then I think about the workers in the vineyards and all of their hopes and dreams. If I didn’t drink this wine, they might be out of work and their dreams would be shattered. Then I say to myself, “It is better that I drink this wine and let their dreams come true than be selfish and worry about my liver.”

Thanks eljefe for the booklet. it is good, however for some inexplicable reason they have left out saw scaled vipers. they can be pretty dangerous especially to children in north india where they may attain about 18 inches in length.
Thanks again for the efforts
