What do you think the policy should be?
Could it be modeled after the US policy of keeping the catch based on length/size/type of the fish and a daily bag limit based on carrying capacity and strength of the fish in the water body and also in line with the conservation goals for the fish and water body. This has to be based on very educated information and also consider long term goals.

Sharief,
There may be a provision for an annual licence (it is mentioned on the voucher) but I have not asked about that. At present we pick up our fishing licence from the WASI office before we leave for the place.
There is a strict bag limit. Mahseer of any size or weight has to be released. One murral weighing not more than 2.5 kgs can be kept for the pot. A reasonable number of tilapias (based on size) can also be kept for the pot. In theory, fish like rohu, catla, carnatic and grass carp can also be removed but this practice is frowned upon. One is encouraged not to release catfish.
In other words, meat collectors are either discouraged or kicked out of the association as one such person recently found out. The blighter had put out handlines at the cottage lake whilst he was away fishing at Forbes Sagar.

The largest caught on that trip was between 2.5 and 2.75 kgs. Prathap hooked into one that was probably just shy of 5 kgs a day earlier.
BTW, it's Wednesday. If I don't hear from you by this evening, I will invite someone else for Saturday. Pran cannot make it.
