High/ Hyper velocity .22 LR in a Walther P22

Hey Gyan Gurus,
Can you give me some information regarding whether .22 LR "ELLY" or "Remington" Yellow jackets Hollow nose work(Can be fired) with Walther P22 or other Pistols.

Check the P22 owner's manual or e-mail Walther whether or not they recommend high velocity ammo.

Avoid the high/hyper velocity rounds if possible. This is assuming that you do not get a reply from the manufacturer.

In general I do not like to use hyper velocity rounds in anything. They do not carry more energy, they use a lighter bullet to achieve higher velocity and often at 22 velocities bullet mass is more important than velocity.

The exception to my rule above is that guns are often individuals, and if one would show a preference for a certain type of ammo that is what I would use in that particular gun.

Even if the manf/manual says you can; use them sparingly. Try a few to be sure they work and then only load these for SD when you carry. Not for regular range practice. Remember every once in a while to fire one or two to see if they function well in your handgun.

One more thing Gurus,
The RF Bullets used in a .22 revolver are the same as the ones used in a Pistol ?

.22 LR Ammo, usually a RImfire, 40 g or 39-38 grain bullet round is the same for Rifles, Pistols and Revolvers.

THis is not to be confused with .22 Mag or WMR.

The safety was a casualty with steady diet of yellow jacket type HV rounds.
