Nice Axx, Sharief more than likely WASI on Cauvery and these guys normally catch and release

I believe it was an angler named Alberto from Spain and the fish was caught on the Galibore stretch of the Cauvery. A little before this a 103-105 lb mahseer had been caught on the same stretch by an angler from Bombay. Think his name is Javed.

.........I have never seen a fish that big...any idea how old the fish would be (just information sake)

Thankfully, these fish are returned to water after a brief photo session. The pros out there see to it that the fish suffers minimum trauma. The thrill is in the catching part of it only. And rightly so.

Does the catfish shown in your picture have spines concealed by the pectoral fins? (like the ones we find here?)
