Hi,

This is a BB gun ( fires ball bearings ) Selection depends on what you really want to use it for ?
If for target practise no use to buy this. If just for fun go-ahead.

For alternatives check with your local dealers, where r u located ?

Do you want an Air Pistol or a Rifle?
Where are you based?

Lots of posts here on this topic - look around you should find what you are looking for :-)

This is a decent buy, good power for occassional plinking. But if you are looking for accuracy and want to improve your shooting capabilities, then you need to look elsewhere. If you like this because of its 1911 looks then :D , you'd not be too happy with the other 'similarly priced' air pistols that are available in the Indian market.

So, it depends on what is your desired end usage of this pistol. If you're looking at rifles IHP is an option to consider, or you can get in touch with other forum members for information. For starters you can check Kanwal's rifles they are pretty decent IHP based rifles and shoot well.

Hi Webgupta,

" want 1 for fun wich is good enough as far as the range n ol is concerned"..........in this cas you can go in for the IHP National Air Rifles/Pistols.........they are the best when it comes to the Indian made stuff and decently prized too.

The Blanka.........in my opinion is good for looks/ocassional plinking.

Best

Webgupta,

I don't agree with you, Kolkata is one such city in India where maximum number of air guns are made and supplied all over India. There are some Rifle shops at Dhramatalla in Kolkata, you can give it a try. You can also try to get one from the Hobby centre in Park Street.

Go and check some shops and tell us your experience over there. I also have address of manufacturers I'll give you that if you don't find suitable gun from these shops.

IHP is the best Indian brand, but its supply is very less.

The pistol you have chosen is not so good as it is made completely out of aluminium casting and is not repairable. also very short lifed and breaks off easily. so think twice before buying this pistol.

Hi guys,

I am also planning to buy the Blanca, but dont know where to get it in Hyderabad.

I have been an avid shooter in the past and am restarting my hobby. till I get a gun license, I guess I have to be content with and air pistol.

any other options- any imported stuff avaiable in the retail market? personally I dont like the IHF air pistol.

also, do we only get .177 and .22 in India or can we get some higher bore as well?

cheers

Himanshu

I happened to meet the chap who designed Blanca and gave him my feedback on the weapon based on the messages here. Hopefully he shall come out with a better model soon.

He didn't design it, it already existed as the Marksman airpistol in the USA. He just made a bad copy of it.

I have a blanca airpistol. 0.177 cal. Shoots BBs as well as pellets. I bought it last month. Hardly fired 100 shots. I want to sell it. I bought it for Rs.2000. So the price is Rs.1700. Negotiable. If anyone's interested (preferably from Hyderabad), you can email me at [email protected].
