These do turn up from time to time, but command high prices - not worth it IMHO! The cuteness factor wears off pretty quickly when you discover that to keep 'em shooting you must buy (expensive in India) disposable CO2 powerlets, which besides their cost are not always easy to find... Not point buying an airgun/ gun which you cannot shoot... at least not very often...

As Mundaire says, they do turn up but are hard to find and expensive.
But they look and feel really nice; it's fun to speed shoot 8 rounds from the revolving mag. I recently picked up a Walther CP-88 with original box, manual, 2 revolving 8 shot mags, 2 tins of pellets and 5 cylinders for 25k in Mumbai after searching at many dealers.
After a week or so unfortunately my friend fell in love with it and forced me (emotionally blackmailed me) to part with it. Luckily I found another Beretta one for almost the same price which I will be picking up soon. The Beretta is heavier than the Walther.
Cylinders and pellets are easily available in Mumbai.
If you are interested I can ask around in Mumbai if more are available. What is your budget?

Actually these are no fun as Mundaire points out. The Co2 cartridges are a pain to find and even then you can't send them by mail, trains and airplanes. If you live in Chennai etc it makes more sense cause they seem to be available there.
Get yourself something self contained and then its more fun. the HW 45 or beeman p1 series is good but if you indulge in match shooting then an IZH 46M is a very good deal.

CO2 cartridges are available easily here in Mumbai for 150 to 175 Rs. Probably even cheaper if you search. Also, I think you can refill your carts at the Worli Range if you are a member of the MRA.

AMK, in USA CO2 powerlets cost between INR 20-32, depending on the quantity you purchase them. So a price of INR 150-175 is steep in my book. If you get 20 shots per powerlet, that's INR 7.5 per shot WITHOUT even factoring in the cost of good pellets! It would be cheaper to shoot a .22 LR... even considering India's inflated ammo prices... for me the whole point of owning/ keeping good airguns is a cheap and hassle free way to practice, if the cost of shooting them exceeds that for powder burners I would not consider them to be practical enough... anyhow, that's my personal take on things - to each his/ her ownamk";p="37139 wrote:CO2 cartridges are available easily here in Mumbai for 150 to 175 Rs. I got around 30 to 40 shots per cap. If I was living in the US of A I'd have my cellar filled with all sorts of handguns and rifles but unfortunately if wishes were horses beggars would ride
Just for the price factor I have been contemplating hard about applying for a 2nd handgun license for a .22 but I have been told that here in Mumbai it is virtually impossible to get a second handgun license for protection and almost impossible even if you are a member of the rifle association. The only way possible is if you achieve something in a competition but target shooting is not really a sport I would enjoy.
Anyway, for around the building fun the CO2 pistols are great. You can't really shoot .22s in your building garage can you
To each his own mate, that's what's wonderful about the human race!

What is your budget? Like I said; I paid 25k for the Walther; then 25k for the Beretta too.
Try the dealers in the dealer section, if you have no luck PM me and I'll speak to some people around here.
But does anyone make a PPK lookalike air pistol? I thought the PPK frame was too small to be useful as an air pistol.
Tokyo Marui makes many air pistols; a lot of different models I think.
The 2 air pistols I have are from Umarex.

I believe Umarex makes them (PPK) and sells them under the Walther name, they seem to have a licensing arrangement for this with Walther. Check out the various models here >>>
Cheers!

P.S. - 25k for something that's listed for less than INR 3k - we Indian citizens are really getting ourselves royally screwed!!

You can't refill the 12gram co2 cartridges. I have been all over Mumbai and Delhi trying to do so. The refillable co2 cylinders are the ones that are on the dedicated target pistols and if you have an adapter for paint ball bottles.

Tokyo Marui only makes airsoft stuff. They shoot 6mm plastic bbs. Umarex has bought out the walther airguns division, so most , in fact all of the gas air pistols are made by Umarex under license of the various brand names like Beretta, Colt, S&W.rvn_venky";p="37179 wrote: HI ALL, what budget should i be prepared for- to get walther ppk air gun-also is this the same brand as tokyo marui (seems to be a popular brand)-thx

Dev, this thread did get me thinking about CO2 "fun plinkers", and my personal choice would not be a "look alike", but in stead the IZH-Drozd, combined with a bulk fill conversion tank etc. and shooting lead BB's. Check out the video and review on Pyramydair - http://www.pyramydair.com/drozd.shtml - seems like a lot of fun at a pretty reasonable price! With 3 & 6 round bursts... like I said some serious fun quotient there!
Cheers!
