When you strip the nickle off the pistol, the fit of the slide to the frame and anywhere else the nickle was, is going to become very loose.

This complete job was done under guidelines of a pistolsmith who is in job from past 50 years, this old man is key person of the dealer and material was arranged by self. Several shots are fired and as of date number counts to 150 pops , no mis no problem, fast firing of eight shots was also done to test trigger action vs slide movement and there were no stuck up ,i have seen my foreign make pistols getting stuck once you try to fire real fast.
Logically what you said is right but any noise is not there on shaking ,the feel of the pistol is compact,However
your feedback for further improvement is called-for. cheers James....

Hi , casual shooter ,Thanks for the feedback , i am not sure which foreign pistol grip will fit IOF pistol ,if you or any of the members had fitted foreign grip on there IOF pistol ,there feedback is invited. Colour /nickling or gold plating is purely personal choise .Mother of pearl grip looks elegant ,once i am sure of foreign model, i would surely hunt for it. cheers James....

There's a good likelyhood you wont get any foreign ready-made slip-on grips anywhere in the world for the Ashani. Simply because the gun is in distribution only in India. As you see it wouldn't be too profitable for any manufacturer in the US(For instance) to do so.
Also, the Ashani is an amalgamation of very (VERY) old designs, the contours will probably have no match up with any Modern pistol of any make.
The Ashani, however, has several design features(Particularly the frame and grip elements) lifted from the Colt Model 1903 Pocket Hammerless. Though I've not tried it, there is a good chance custom grips for the 1903 will fit the Ashani....Worth a try, what?
As I believe, there aren't too many manufacturers of 'modern' grips for old guns either(the 1911 is an exception) so you'll probably be stuck with wood and perhaps bakelite reproductions.
Or else...why not simply try the stuff from gunaccessory.com? They make decent (Though expensive) stuff. They are, I suppose, the only 3rd party manufacturer if grips and accessories for the Ashani.
regards,
cc

Hi CC , Thanks for the openion ,i am using gunaccessories grip as of now,I would try to get colt 1903 grip ,you rightly hit on the target about ashani grips, getting international standard ruber grips is next to impossible, i am using pachmayr gripper rubber grips for my snub nose S&W revolver ,i am trying to get some oversize pachmayr/hogue grip and trim it down to fit IOF pistol ,this being the best option what i can think of . cheers James...

the iof website gives a waiting period of 10 months to get the pistol, can any one tell me what will be the actual time, to get the weapon i tried to contact the factory but the babu moshayes there were not ready to part with the information.
only they told me that there is some improvement in the model in slide, lock, and ejection etc.

I sent application with full payment Rs 57,000/-, recieved a letter saying that currently waiting period is 10 months, and collection date will be intimated in due course.
But shopkeepers of accessories in front of cossipore factory told that full payment makes it possible within 4 months however.
It is however another matter that later I applied for refund because I became interested in revolver and sent full amout to FGK kanpur. My collection date for revolver is on 10th march.
