That's precisely what happened to me and that too in NOIDA of all places. How that place has changed...

I recently shared Abhijeet's experience at a Noida mall-the security guys were a bit apprehensive about the knife..sorry guys , as I read somewhere, i rather be tried by 12 than carried by 6
am posting a few of my favourite carry pieces. The Spyderco was in the car when i was snapping away at close to midnight...will post again. The Gerber is one slick opener too, only probs is the mean look and weird blade geometry
Most times, there's some thing sharp on me-professional cutting aside!

I have a victorinox officers model as edc. Nowadays a gerber gator 650 folder adorns my rather wide hips as well.
Got a gator mate that I use on saturdays and sundays as the condura sheath looks more like a mobile cover 2 security at malls and multiplexs.
Waiting earnestly 4 Ka-bar precision hunter that my bro in the US is getting 4 me as a birthday gift.

Any time I travel out of Mumbai I always have my CRKT Bear claw as a neck knife.
I would love to have the Fred perrin original but this is a VFM substitute
Been pondering on a multi tool too but not yet made up my mind.

Yes, thats the one. I have the serrated version with the pointed tip.
You can always go for the Emerson la griffe or better the Fred perrin custom la Griffe

Asif,
The Thor's over the 9" long by 2" wide import spec. I think it's 10" long.
Always wanted a Falkie and came close to a good deal on an Odin but got even luckier on the Hattori.

I carry a leatherman squirt P4 on my keychain and am very happy with it. A leatherman wave when I go fishing and a Spyderco Cara Cara for when I'm travelling.

Rusty
Are the customs very sticky about the blade length.
2 yrs ago on a trip to Kathmandu I picked up a Khukri, did'nt have any problems on return.
Just walke through the Green.
Doc,
How much does the Thor cost,it is a beauty definitely one for the collection.

No idea, Sanjay.
Infact I did not even know there was a maximum blade size until penpusher mentioned it.
Having said that, Ranjeet came back from Germany with two biggish khuks and customs did not seem to care.

Well,
Been away from the board for quite some time...reason of course, site being not allowed to access from the company ..
Btw Mack The Knife is right, the customs didn't care...maybe I was just lucky..I had even got a Jungle King I, on one of my previous trips...this time on the domestic leg, the security folks wanted to have a look at the knife and asked why was I taking it..I just said, I liked it, so i had bought it..
But I had kept the khuk blunt...Actually the customs are looking for electronic stuff..
Cheers
Ranjeet
